Ruger No 1 questions...
      #55202 - 19/04/06 10:54 AM

First of all, thank you all for your informative answers to my other questions on this forum.

I have a question about rebarreling the No 1 Tropical to 300 H&H. I know it can be done, but will the gun be nose heavy with the thicker barrel and 30 cal bore?

Would I be better off rebarreling a standard No1? I just prefer the Tropical forearm.

Thanks,

Ben

My No. 1 Tropical in .375 H&H feels muzzle heavy in the original configuration.

If you haven't bought the gun yet and want the Alex Henry style forend, you could just buy a No. 1 Sporter with a 22" barrel chambered in 7x57 or .30/06, and rebarrel it to the standard 26" contour.

Richard
