There was a 470 NE built on a Browning action at the Calgary Gun Show: sounds like the same one that was on the bulletin board here a couple of years ago. Anybody ever figure out who built it? (It's not a Ferlach, I'm pretty sure.) They wanted $6000.00 and something, with dies, Canadian.

Short barrels? If so it was at Vancouver last year. Built by a local gunmaker. Seemed a bit awkward to me.

Mick:

I didn't notice the barrel length: it did seem very ponderous to swing though. Being it was the first heavy double I've ever picked up I guess I shouldn't say too much. It's likely the same gun you're referring to.

Thanks very much.

J. Shields

That's the same double I enquired about a year ago, built by a machinist around Vancouver. I didn't touch it then and wouldn't now at that price. The cased Adams .577 at the show was a gem and reasonable at $10G, the .360 was as new and in the right ballpark. I did pick up an Alex Henry in .450 at the show, and a Farquharson and a Westley Richards 2 days prior. The other good entry double was at Ralf Martini's table in .45-70 for $2500.

Tell us about what you ended up with. And about what you didn't. The 360 in particular.

Arctic:

I'm afraid I don't know the vendors names at all, other than Jeff Collins of CBC fame.

I did see a neat looking double near the fellow with the new Krieghoff (and a few other things out of my league) and I thought it was chambered in 45-90. Different gun or are my eyes just weak?
