In the pursuit of the almighty $$ some fellows have even created software to simulate African hunting and shots taken. They give you distances and choice of weapons etc.

Does it have the option to hunt buffalo with a Marlin .45/70 guide gun?
Then it will give make all the keyboard hunters some "real experience" to talk about!

While we are talking software parlor games we can have some fun with shooting various guns at charging software animals testing "stopping Power"---
A marlin 45/70 shooting a "stopping shot" at a Buff charge attempt non CNS hit gives only 8452 KP units of "stopping power" vs a 375H&H shooting 13862(150%more s.power)KP units vs a 458WM with 21230 KPunits(250% more s.power).A 45/70 is just going to p*ss the Buff off if I can't do the CNS.
No offense but I am sure going to want the stun effect of the 458 vs the 45/70 if I don't hit the CNS--But worse than that I want to be REALLY HUNTING with that same caliber!!!
Nothing else quite like it or that even comes close!!

Damn no .45/70! Guess they don't frequent the internet enough.

Hunters are invited to select their weapon of choice from four possibilities, namely, a .500 Nitro Express firing solid bullets, a .375 Holland and Holland with a selection of soft (expanding) or solid bullets or a .300 Winchester Magnum firing soft bullets.

Actually hoppdoc if it works it might well work like quite a good shot placement guide on the PC.
