Mini-14 in Zimbabwe
      #50450 - 21/02/06 01:32 PM

Just met a lucky man. He's planning his first African Safari. During the conversation I comented to the Aimpoint equipped Mini-14 (.243) in his office. He is planning to take it to Zim for the smaller antelope. I said "I don't think semi-auto is legal there, and since you're flying through Jo-berg, I'm quite sure you're in for some "fun" if you try."

Can someone list a link to the Zim regs and the RSA regs for "hunters flying through"?

Thanks

Safe Hunting
Clint

Zim allows semi autos as long as they are not "weapons of war" or some such wording, which means full auto. Semi auto is fine.

While carrying a semi auto through RSA, he cannot overnight. But as long as he checks his bag through from Atlanta all the way to Harare, it will be no problem.
