Stalk and walk with that double for sudden trouble and use a scoped bolt gun for the set up money shots on game.
But if it does hit the fan and your life is at the mercy of teeth, claws and fangs in some remote farflung wilderness what would you rather be doing? Trying to rack that bolt in a sweat or shooting that 2nd barrel into the terror attacking you.
How much is your life worth?? I think you need both type guns and a good PH backing you up as well.

A double rifle is worth the investment, particularly if you look at those double barrels and see beauty, purpose and what you think a gun should be.
&... Double rifle prices are going up.
The only thing in my eyes that competes with a double rifle is a double shotgun! hahahaha
However, as the prior poster aptly said, for those long long shots the bolt action is the answer and the right investment there. But from an aesthetic standpoint, from an investment standpoint and certainly from a just all round exciting and pleasure-giving gun to carry and shoot, I cannot think of a better gun than a double. Sometimes after a long day at work I get home and chamber some rounds in that double and... blam blam... blam blam... and relieve some o that nasty stress... nothing like a double to relieve stress....now that is worth something too!
