Big Bores In California

Have any of you guys had experience with making a big bore larger than .600 in California? I have been interested in the .600 Overkill. I have been told that it isn't legal to do so, even if it is can be proven to be similar or based of a Nitro Express round. It seemed like nobody I talked to wanted to explain how I would go about proving it is for sporting use, or even if this would make a difference. Thanks for the help.

With those kind of laws I'm glad I don't live there.

That's why it's called the left coast! Too many lawyers and politicos.

Thank you. Yeah, California gun laws do suck. I'm confused about something though. I was talking to someone at my local range about his .470 and other big bore calibers and he mentioned that someone was shooting a .600 Nitro Express there not too long before. Does anyone know if they make exceptions for the Nitro Express rounds? If there is an exception, is anyone familar with what process is necessary to get an exception for a big bore round? Thanks for the help.

If this works, here is a recent California Big bore.a

and just for scale.
The two others are a .375 300gr. and a 30.06
