Your favorite 2005 innovation concerning bowhuntin

I just received the last issue of Petersen's BOWHUNTING magazine with scores of HOT NEW PRODUCTS, 199 in fact.
Each year this first issue is not to be missed, a real must, I am rejoicing myself long before getting it.
You can later speak of the new products but............

for the moment, I would like to know what was the best innovation concerning, bow, arrow or bowhunting rig in 2005.
Please don't say the new Mathews, every year it can be said.

For me, small diameter arrows with hidden insert.

I pretty much stick with what's been working for me consistantly over time. Mostly because I am on a budget and would rather spend the money on a hunt!

Once in a awhile I do find a product worth changing to but not all that often. I think the last change I made was for a whisker biscuit a few years ago. I only looked around for a new product at the time because the traditional arrow rest I had then wasn't consistant due to wear and tear. I got tired of tuning all the time. I knew it wasn't my technique so I searched until I found something that worked for me.

Some people are very influenced by product name and so-called prestige they think it brings them if they flaunt a new bow every year. What ever! They never go to Africa or anywhere else either!

I've been shooting the same bow and the same brand of arrows for 6 years. They work, things die, there is meat in my freezer, I killed a 61" + kudu last August, I am happy....Blah, blah, blah!!!!

For 2006


Following Dan Hunsaker's example, I'll try the FOB fletching made by starrflight company.

I am a tad fed up with torn up fletchings from different sorts (feathers and vanes) and makers rending my groups necessarily fairly loose.

In fact I messed up when ordering. I provided my payment via paypal but not my address. I have to correct it and all went well. Mr Morris, the manager is the most kind people, he inquired about my bow, rest, shafts and broadheads and obligingly offered many wise pieces of advice. Better so, I was delivered in no time and S & H were 1.70$ only.
This is a company worth to be advertised even prior to testing the product.
I’ll keep You informed of my tests.
