is the 687 Silver Pigeon II a good shotgun and is the price reasonable i cant find a price on the net

It is a good shotgun.I bought one quite some time back,although it was just a silver pigeon and cost about 800 dollars(I think).Used it for hunting and skeet shooting and had no complaints.

What you going to use it for? Hunting, clays, skeet?

If you shoot competition, the 682 might be a better choice or if you can't take the pounding from that double all day long, the 391 is an excellent autoloader..

I saw a gold engraved Grade IV at Dick's Sporting Goods in Skokie two days ago and it was very badly put together. The rib between the barrels was uneven and the salesman first tried telling me that it was grease on it. When I tried to get the grease off, it was clear that there was none. The soldering was bad. Simple. I thought it was really a sorry state of affairs on a $ 3000 shotgun and if I were spending that kind of money I would go to a Cesare Guerini. The Guerini guns that I have seen in that price range were vastly better.
