Is anyone planning to have a 400 H&H built? If so, what action and barrel are you using? I am slowly gathering the components to have one built. I'm planning on a Winchester 70 action with a Krieger 1-12" twist barrel. It's going to have a Express sights, a barrel band front sling swivel, English walnut stock with an ebony grip cap and fore-end tip and a red Pachmayr Decelerator pad. It will most likely wear a leupold 2.5X scope. I've also found 100 Swift A-Frame 400gr. bullets that I can get for $55.00.

Craig

Welcome and hello.

That sounds like a nice rifle and one I would not mind owning if I didn't already have my 404. Don't forget to make the stock English and not American Classic. Shorter forend, narrower, laid back pg. etc.

That should be a real beaut and a classy cartridge, even if it is still brand new.
