2triggers,
Neither will I ever get my hands on this set but this is a fun topic.
Here goes:
1. Greener Facile Princeps double rifle in 303
2. David MacKay Brown/Dickson Bar in Wood action double rifle in 450-400
3. AA Brown sidelock 12 bore shotgun
4. A David Norin bolt action in 30-06 on one of the colour case hardened original Oberndorf actions that he showed me for longer shots. I still am in raptures over it and happy for whoever the final owner is going to be
Cheers and good hunting!

This is exactly why economics is known as the dismal science. Unlimited wants and limited resources just keep banging heads.
But, assuming an insanely rich uncle, here goes:
1. New .577 3" NE caliber Holland & Holland Royal double rifle. 2. New .470 NE caliber Westley Richards sidelock double rifle. 3. New .375 H&H Magnum caliber Hartmann & Weiss double square bridge magnum Mauser bolt action rifle with Talley QD mounted Schmidt & Bender Zenith 1.5-6 with Flash Dot reticle. 4. New .300 H&H Magnum caliber Hartmann & Weiss double square bridge magnum Mauser bolt action rifle with Talley QD mounted Schmidt & Bender Zenith 2.5-10 with No. 4 reticle.
Needless to say, all of the above would be bespoke.
Gotta stay with the classics and the best!

Just for fun I took a quick tour of the guns available on some common internet gun sites. I thought this way if my "rich Uncle" needed to know how big a check to send I could give him a total.
Also, I tried to stay with Vintage British weapons & also tried to keep makers with their their own calibers.
LIGHT (PG) RIFLE:
Westley Richards Bolt-Action 318 WR $6750 (Steve Barnett Fine Arms)
MEDIUM (All-Around) RIFLE:
John Rigby Bolt-Action 416 Rigby $35,000 (Schwandt Classic Arms) *would have strongly considered an original .404 Jeffery if I could have found one
LARGE (Stopper) RIFLE:
Holland & Holland "Royal" Double .500 NE $49,000 (Fred Roberts)
SHOTGUN:
Purdey SLE 12 guage $29,750 (Hallowell & Co)
So, for a grand total of $120,500 I believe this is a reasonable "Dream Battery" for any safari. What I think is amazing is that a new "H & H" Double Rifle would be a 2 year wait & cost more than all 4 of my guns.
I would also ask my uncle to throw in a 28 day safari to Tanzania to try these out!

That would be a very smart way to go. Quality, second-hand custom rifles and shotguns can be extremely good buys that can save you a lot of money, provided they're what you want.
You all have great taste!

Hmmmmm......
1. Holland & Holland Royal in 470NE for the big,
2. Rigby's own .416 Rigby bolt rifle for the bad,
3. Hartman-Weiss .375 H&H bolt rifle for the ugly, and...
4. MacKay Brown 20 gauge sxs for the dainty!
