The first set of photos is an Original 505 Gibbs by George Gibbs, Bristol.

The old stock is the original stock. I only restocked the rifle as I wanted something
stronger and bigger to hold onto and I didn't want to break the old stock.
It was a Fortuitous move as the first time I went hunting Buff with it I got thrown
from a Trailer onto Gravel and although I nearly held the gun off the ground, it just
touched the ground.

The leather pad on the stock (Pig skin) is original and I have seen it on a couple
of other Gibbs.

The 2nd set of photos is a Custom 500 Jeffrey which is a copy of an original
500 Jeffrey and I think was the first one of many copies made in Australia.

Both guns are extremely accurate and shoot better than most people can shoot.

Here is a 500 action and barrel I have,I'm still trying to decide to build or sell.

Thanks for posting some fantastic pictures! These complement's ALF's rifles very well and are equally beautiful works of art.

WV Fred,

I'm sure, after seeing the pictures posted here, you wuld like to build your rifle and not sell the barreled action.
