Gaucher DR

Hello,
I'm about to buy a 9.3x74R SXS BLE "Ouverture" double rifle by Gaucher (now Bretton & Gaucher, St. Etienne). The rifle is a decade old, but like new/unused, from unsold dealer stock. Price in France for a new one sans ejectors is $4100, but I can get this ejector version for $3000 in Germany.
From pictures I like this gun very much, elegant and light (about 3.2kg). But I don't have any information as to the quality, reliability and shootability of Gaucher double rifles. So any information along these lines would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

I've no experience shooting them, but I have handled several and did visit their shop back in spring of 2001. Very nice people. Guns are good "utility" DRs on the same level as Merkel, Chapuis, Demas, etc. Like those you can get nicer wood and more engraving with the higher models. I've know a few European hunters with them for driven game hunts and they've all said positive things about them.
