I have handled a few rising bite Rigbys, including a 500 and a 470, they were $55,000 each. I would have loved to have had BOTH of them. They fit me perfect. They were VERY nice.

All:

A rising third bite: If Butch were to produce this type on his rifles:

1 - how many additional hours of labor would it entail?

2 - what would this do for YOUR perception of a Searcy DR?

3 - what do you think it would cost? (Complete guestimates, of course)

I ask these ?s just for the sake of discussion.

Well, I have seen one Searcy in the US but
did not look at it in great detail.

HOwever people with cred. on this and other
forums rave about them so I trust their judgement.

However if Searcy can build a RBRTB Double rifle
my estimation would go up substantially.

IMHO, I would then put Searcy above the
Mexican Rigby's currently bearing the name "Rigby"
(just saying it makes me feel sick !!!)

The hours it would take would be a few and the cost
I couldn't estimate but it wouldn't matter if it was alot
as the action is one of a kind.

Good luck to him if he can do it.
