searcy rifle case hardened

While reading all the post about Searcy and have deciding on the rifle as my choice. Will Mr. Searcy do a case hardened on the reciever? I like the looks of the case hardened reciver and scroll Im not a fan of the animals on the gun. I guess if you want it get it, I thought someone had said Butch was making a new Dr rifle and it was case hardened. I was also wondering about the stock color the guns that I have seen on-line have been rather light color. I am under the impression that Mr. Searcy will do what ever the customer want's ?

Stock colour - you can only do so much with
stock colour BUT wood naturally darkens over time
anyway so a stock on a gun will get darker.

Wood is always a personal choice but start with a darker
piece.

470NEBD, I'm not sure one can do case coloring on stainless steel. Butch's actions are very hard stainless!

For $6500 more he offers the "deluxe" which I believe is available in Chrome Moly and could be case colored.

According to Butch, the stainless actions cannot be blued or case hardened.

Butch is coming out with some new guns. One is a double rifle in the classic style with flat sides and case hardened. He is also coming out with sidelock and boxloch round action shotguns. Call him at 760-762-6131

I believe he will have examples of his new guns at SCI and DSC.

Gents: I just spoke with Butch on Thursday and he said he will have a PH in case hardened at Reno. Don't know about Dallas, but I would assume he'd take a new product there too for potential buyers. ScottW
