Croc Hunter "hunting" for a new location
      #4292 - 01/10/03 12:32 PM

Council moves to keep Croc Hunter on Sunshine Coast
Caloundra's mayor says he hopes "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin will choose to maintain his Australia Zoo complex at Beerwah.

After an emergency meeting yesterday, councillor Don Aldous says all the cards were laid on the table and council offered a special project team to ensure there were no further delays in development plans for the zoo property.

Cr Aldous says he is not yet convinced that is enough to keep Australia Zoo on the coast.

"No I'm not...but I am convinced that he'll go and have further discussions with Brisbane City Council and he'll make the right decision," he said.

"I believe that decision will be that he'll stay in Beerwah and he'll work with this city council with the cooperation and support that we can give and his will be one of the best zoos in the world."

*******
