I think the Monaro was better than that
although of a completely different style / type.

The front end from a '49/50 Buick, the rear end of a '39/'40 Ford and the look of a chopped '51 Merc. Cool looking car, playing on the nostalgia of the empty nest baby boomers with the disposable income. It does make you wonder if there are any new ideas coming from car designers though.
