Multiple barrels, calibers and species

Finally after owning my Krieghoff for about a year I got to take it into the field. I took the 470 barrels in hopes of shooting Boar. That never materialized. I took the 9.3x74R in hopes of shooting an Aoudad. I heard it was killed by another animal before I got there. Probably died of fright knowing I was on my way. Finally the 7x65R barrels were snapped on and away we went.
The gun points well and shoulders well, but it is heavy. It has a breako recoil reducer for the 470 and so as a small caliber it’s heavier than a single shot or a bolt that I would normally have carried. It was hot as hell this past weekend making the weight even more of a burden. I shot a 7 point whitetail at about 80 yards one shot kill. My next shot was at another deer out at 140 yards threw the trees and bushes. When the deer took a couple of steps I had enough sight line to take the shot. The deer reared to the shot and fell dead. I also backed up a friend whose boar was getting away.
All in all it was a great weekend. The additional weight of the gun was worth every extra ounce to carry. I enjoyed the gun, the way it shot and the way it hits. I’ll be taking it more often.
