This has to be the forum to find a cape buff headskin for my mate in Tasmania--he has the head but wants a skin --any body know where to obtain one.

I will contact my Dip & Packing agents in Zimbabwe and Jo'burg to see if they can source any extra headskins for buff.

If they can, your friend can contact them and negotiate a price and if a deal is made, they can include the headskin in with my shipment of trophies and we can work out a sharing of the freight costs (percentage of weight or size). The headskin would need to be delivered to my taxidermist as the quarantine agent and he will probably want a fee for preparing the headskin etc. This bloke is based in Melbourne so as close to Tassie as you can get.

Let me know if your friend is interested. I will email my D&P agents anyway.

Otherwise maybe one of our African members can offer an alternative.

I shot a Cape Buffalo last August and traded the cape (headskin) towards the price of the rest of my taxidermy. So, I know my taxidermist has one. He gave me a $250.00 credit, so I guess that is the negotiation starting point. You can contact them at leadingedge@tritel.net

Is that in US dollars---silly q`s but i do need to know for sure.What condition would the cape be and what size horns did it have.Thanks for your reply mate.

I remember your story and photo. I really enjoyed them on AR.

Especially the photo with the Maasai. That was a great idea. Please post them here on this forum as a new thread as well (and you do get extra chances at the competition that way. For that photo maybe even bonus points )

If you don't have the time, I can do it if you give your permission (don't like to poach other sites too much )

Quickest solution

Send 10.000 us dollars by money order and I go right away and shot two buffalos and send the skin he likes best, transportation free of charge naturally

Concerning the head skin, try and contact the Kruger National Park in South Africa cause they cull a hell of a lot of buffs a year.
