Boswell 12 G Hammer Gun
      #395743 - 12/01/26 09:35 AM

Picked up this old Boswell 12G Hammer gun. Looks like it may have been a pigeon gun back in the day. Someone has badly fitted a set of replacement barrels but I think I can do something with it. If someone has a set of boswell damascus 12g barrels lying around I am missing them. Had a dunlop slip on recoil pad that has stuck itself to the stock. Nice engraving.

Very nice. This one has potential, a very nicely preserved action, buttstock & fore end are easily restorable and no cracks or bodgering.. great pickup.
The barrels? Maybe you can live with them…

Yeah pretty off face which I can rectify easily enough. Just the barrels not lining up with the detonators upsets me a bit. Having said that it is very well balanced right on the pin and points very nicely even though they are only 27 1/2 inches.

Terrible shame mate the hammers & firing pins not lining up correctly, must be a non original barrel set?
Just love that fine engraving, bloody marvellous!

The engraving is very nice.

I share your love of old hammer shotguns. I grew up using them, Have several but not nice engraved ones. I'd love to acquire some nice ones.

Good luck with the fix.
