10 bore cast bullets?
      #395065 - 17/12/25 03:23 PM

I'm having no luck locating any 10 gauge/bore cast bullets for my new to me 10 bore double rifle. Anyone know of a source?

Is it rifled for slugs or RB's?

Mike,
Possible that there are 10bore round balls available, but they would likely be pure lead and sized to function as patched balls in a muzzle loader.

You will really need to know the bore/groove diameter of your barrels as there is historic variation that depended upon whether or not the rifle was intended brass case or paper case ammunition.
Your easiest path is use that Tanner ball mould (may be that you don’t cast your own but can find someone that could do some for you?) and use those round balls to see how things go. I personally cast of 1-20 tin/lead for my 12/10/8bore rifles.

there is a 10 ga forster slug, of course out of stock but cheap with 34 $ per 100 when available again
https://www.ballisticproducts.com/10ga-Rifled-HP-Lead-Slug-766gr-100_box/productinfo/RRLS766/

Diameter = .747"
Height = .1.051"
Weight = 766 grains (1-3/4 oz.)

maybe a little bit to small but you can patch it with paper or other stuff to the size you want. because its hollow you need real good nitro card wads betweenn bullet and powder.

here are teflon wraps 10 ga to 12 ga https://www.ballisticproducts.com/Teflon-Wraps-10-to-12ga-50_pack/productinfo/TEFLON/

maybe you can shot 12 ga bullets or slug in the 10 ga?
