Legalisation of public land hunting in Queensland
      #394437 - 20/11/25 10:03 AM

For the Queenslanders on this forum, please consider signing this petition to the QLD state Government proposing the legalisation of hunting on public land.

This would entail access to state forests in a similar model to the NSW R-licence. I am aware that previous attempts have been unsuccessful; however, I am hopeful that the new Minister for Environment may look more favourably on the proposal.

That seems crazy.
Here in B.C., all Crown Land, ie: public land is open to all form of public use, hiking, hunting, cross country quad clubs or individual ownership of quads. All lakes are public/Crown properties, open for water sports or fishing.
Only private lands require permission for any access.
Public/Crown lands are open for use. Perhaps I misunderstood the link. I merely assumed the same in all supposedly "free" countries.

Absolutely it is crazy, even moreso when you consider the land access available for hunting in other states such as New South Wales, Victoria and the Northern Territory.

Something worthy to support,

I hope the LNP government shows some balls and supports public lands private hunting.

Victoria has long had State Forest and smecNational Parks hunting. Good public access to it too.

NSW started in up a couple decades ago. Lots ofvStatecForests and other public lands.

NT has some duck and wetland reserves where waterfowl and some others animals may be hunted. Boar. Buffalo? Plus public land hunting in eg the Litchfueld National Park in its Southern zones where tourists rarely go. Other parks orcareas, any Top Enders can fill in.

Not sure about CCP WA.

SA has for a century had duck hunting reserves. Most have specific open days during the duck season. Some are or were open every day during the season

There is also in SA, a feral culling scheme where if you belong to a certain club and branch, you get the pleasure on certain days getting access to feral goat culling in particular national parks. I've thought about doing it. You need to be "tested and assessed" before any "hunt" is permitted. Oops not "hunt", I was told one of the "bosses" insists it's not sporting hunting, it's only and purely "conservation culling". Not for pleasure. That was years ago. Being so restrictive, specific weekends or days, large group of cullers. I prefer it to be more pleasurable, sporting, less like a work activity. When if like to do it. BUT I haven't hunted feral goats in the Flinders now for a couple decades so maybe worth giving it after.

There is also a little known public land access. Unalienated public land, unless specifically banned, complete private access, Except no one knows where it is. A big secret. Those that know do not tell, especially the public servants. There is or was, a big sectioning between a northern desert National Park.two halves. Everyone thinks it is Nat Park. One of our NE members used to hunt camels on it. An adventurous drive in via the sand dunes,

Tasmania is considering introducing public lands, state Forest, hunting. I saw a video with a greens Muppet asking a govt minister why the Tas govt is "weakening gun laws" .... This green slime bitchnis self importantly comparing private hunting access to reducing gun laws. Complete Muppet. Hopefully the Liberal government passex the laws and regulations.

QUEENSLAND. Let's hope it happens.

Can interstate persons sign the petition and hopefully participate one day?
