Pheasants 2

End of season shoot on pheasants. Same location. Good weather and shooting conditions.Four shooters Mark, Evan , Chris and myself.
Evan used a miroku 12g , Mark a browning 12, Chris a silver pigeon 20 and I used a AYA sxs 20g.
Walk up style shooting over cockers and springers. Everyone shot well with just over 80% of birds taken. A great day with a good bunch of blokes and a very well organised shoot. Here's some pics.

wonderful to see landscapes were the pheasant still make it. in our idustrialise agriculture there is no space for ground breeder anymore. wherever the hen build her nest one or two machines will drive over this in spring/sommer.
if there is a male pheasant shoot on a driven hunt in autumn he was known for long time to be in this area.

Great shoot mic. Wonderful pics. Those Chinese birds are quite beautiful, in the air and in the oven.

Nice Mick. 80% is pretty good going. If you need that percentage reduced a bit give me a yell. Guns and Dogs, does not get any better.

Great shoot Mick with an impressive average. Great landscape as well, and a nice gun you were using.

Matt.

Great photos and obviously a very enjoyable and productive hunt. Beautiful dogs just bred for pheasant hunting. Unfortunately where I live our pheasant season is only the first weekend in each of the three months of the gamebird season with only one cock bird a day bag limit per shooter.
The area I hunt is some rough country on the edge of a council reserve where there is often dog owners exercising their dogs in the reserve.
I'm on long distance call if you need another Miroku gun and dog to help control that population of pheasants.

My only bird for the season.

I gather lots of Antipodean Nitro Expressers would love to join in on a pheasant shoot.

We had a great time.

Small correction - I was using a Beretta 20 bore.

Our young dog handler was telling me a few times I needed to get a 28 bore - he’s probably right!

The 20 bore that Mick used was the whole package - I reckon I’m also keen to get one.

So it may been an expensive day out ;-)
