Ripper deal on Chapuis UGEX doubles at Cleavers
      #393189 - 28/08/25 07:45 AM

A heads up for the Aussies here.

https://www.cleaverfirearms.com/Products.aspx?Category=Rifles&Brand=523

$3750 for a brand new quality double in 9.3x74R (or 30-06)!

Provided you can live with extractors, single trigger and 22" bbls.

They are pretty light for a 9.3, being built on a 28 bore action - but in my experience, a lot of fun to shoot.

As per Chapuis website, the UGEX has been discontinued, in favour of the X4, which has user regulatable barrels.

That is a good price but and extra $1200 for ejectors. They would want to be bloody good for that price.

M239; Thanks for posting.

The #3,750 seems like a great price for a good double rifle.

Not sure about the $1,200 uptick for ejectors. That is 1/3 of the base price.

Yep, couldn't help myself, grabbed one with extractors! Waiting for PTA now. Hopefully it's a good buy, from what I have read, they are a good gun!
Now to track down some 9.3 cases and reloading dies again!

The $1200 price difference could be viewed as a large uptick for ejectors ...

or a deep discount for living with extractors

;-)

Even at the ejector price, still a bargain - they were ~$8,000 just a few months back

The extractor model is AA grade, $3,750.

Well done Jet - I'm with M239, we'll need some pics & a range report!
You'll have to do a bit of a ring around as per normal, your favourite shop most probably won't have diddlies but hopefully you'll get good brass & dies.
https://www.rebelgunworks.com.au/search?type=product&q=9.3x74

As a side note CBE is now the home of Simplex Dies etc, so worth giving them a bell.
Handy to have a cast load for your new baby also, the cast load for my 450/400 is a real surprise packet, my Merkel loves it better than Woodies!

Thanks, Photos are easy, the range report might take a bit, recently moved, and with the kids at the moment, unfortunately, range time has been far and few! Although I did say to the Mrs that when I get this, we might try to figure out where the range is and go and say hello, she can take her 308 and I'll take this for a play!
Thanks to some kind gentleman, I have acquired some Hornady brass and dies from another forum, paid for and hopefully shipped soon, so they will be here before the PTA. Although it would be a nice surprise if that turns up 1st!!

Always love cast bullets, but just don't have time to do it myself. But that is a great idea, will keep an eye out if i can get some already made ones!

Well done Jet and like the others I will be waiting for on range and if possible, hunt report.
Don't forget to check Bertram for Brass and cheaper bullets.

9.3X64mm thanks for the info on CBE, just sent them an email about Custom made dies.
