A takedown WR model 1897. I can barely focus on the standard sight at 25 yards. Hard to imagine using the 1700 sight.

You have a very beautiful rifle there Kdgj!
Looks in marvellous condition, any more photos of the take down side of things / engraving?
Also what is the emblem on the case, is that from it's original or a previous owner?
Mostly have you shot it & done a range report yet?

Thanks guys.

The caliber is the 303 British. Unfortunately, Westley Richards doesn’t have a lot of records for the falling blocks. They say the records were lost in a flood. The rifle was in Johannesburg in 1899. November engraving on the action except for Westley Richards. The emblem is a bumper plate probably from the ‘50s or ‘60s I picked up.

I really had a tough time seeing the sights under the range roof. I need to get some white paint for the sights and take it to the range again.

It has 1 fixed 100 yard sight and 6 flip sights from 200 to 700. The ladder sight takes it to 1400 yards.

I knew this one would be I'd love. Beautiful rifle. And in .303, a classic.
