John,

That is a nice hunting video, thanks for posting. Those were very good looking fallow deer.

I have hunted fallow deer on Little St Simons Island. At that time, they had a large, well managed fallow deer population. I never heard thge fallow deer vocalize like they did in this video. I tried grunting and bleating to see if any deer reacted and none did.

One recommendation is to turn the sound down in the beginning. It started with a deer grunting and my sound was on loud to hear the deer. Then they played music (not sure why) which played loudly and was bothersome (to me).

Overall this is a video of a great hunt with beautiful fallow deer.

BTW, wealthy Hank Paulson bought Little St Simons Island and had the fallow deer killed and the hunting club disbanded because they were not in his vision of a Georgia coastal island.

Proper coloration too, no menil or blonde.

Too many deer though, dust bowl. Hillside ecology was trashed.

..and .300 Win Mag on fallow? Bloody hell! Hand grenade.
I was wondering why the guide was worrying so much about the does behind, till I saw the chambering!

Very enjoyable to watch.

Google says:
Menil fallow deer have a pale beige or light brown coat, unlike the rusty reddish-brown of common fallow deer.
Unlike common fallow deer, they do not have the black dorsal stripe running down their back.

Why don't we say "no blonde or melanistic": then we are correct for sure!

When the Hunting Club on SSI was active, there were also white fallow bucks. I have several skins.

Fallow have a diversity of colouring.

Black, white, brown and menil. Menil is a reddish russet colour with white dots. Different but a similar look to the eautiful axis or chital deer species coats, Menil, the most beautiful fallow deer. All of mine are menil.

Some deerhunters like to collect a collection of fallow deer buck trophy colours.
