Ranger on the Point

As a distraction from all the political discussion going on here is a rather poor quality photo of my pointer crossed with a different pointer pup pointing a covey of quail yesterday. Nothing like the feeling of seeing you dog on a full point. Only wish I had discovered it years ago.

Great picture.
Tight spot for a shot. Shoot quickly with an open choke. No long range shots there.

Good dog. Nice to see ones pal pointing,

I didn't know the Top End had quail. What's the species? Can you legally shoot them? What happens in the bush, stays in the bush.

My lovely boy is sleeping on my foot at the moment.

What about a bird in both hands? I've always (in my dreams) been a three-some kind of guy.

John there is plenty of them. Their usual lark is to burst out at you feet while you are hunting something else just to scare the life from you. Think people would be surprised how many there are, its not till you have a dog that can find them that you realise. I can pull up in any grassy looking patch around and he will find some. That photo is literally over my back fence.Best dog I have ever had.

Quail have moved in to the back yard. Driving Ranger insane.

Nice.

Alas my bird dog is not very interested in birds. But did a rock solid perfect point at my deer this afternoon when I got home.

BTW what's that stuff on the ground? My place in this drought only has dirt.
