I am ordering mold from accurate molds to cast a bullet for my 12 bore A&N rifle. The bullet will weigh over 700 grains and be .75 diameter. Should I order this mold in aluminum, brass, of Steel? This is the mold, it will be enlarged to .750. The bullet weighs 700 grains in WW. I plan on using much softer lead so it will weigh more. Thanks, Ed

Good looking bullet, Ed, practically hemispherial nose - good shape. I would use a 50:50 WW/lead mix. That mixture worked REALLY well in my .50 Alaskan Rolling block, right up to almost 2,000fps. SPG for lube, or Paul Mathews mix of Beeswax:Vaseline. My mix was 60:40 by volume.
I recently bought a 2 cavity set of blocks from Accurate Moulds in Brass. I sprayed them with Lyman Moly bullet spray lube & they cast beautiful bullets.
Just looking at the bullet again, I really like the design, hemispherical with a small flat nose that could have been larger, but it's just fine due to the bullet's nose being hemispherical in overall shape. Lt.James Forsyth would agree.

I had the .50 cal DC mould done in brass. Much heavier than aluminum. I sprayed them well with a moly bullet spray by Lyman. I really like the brass blocks for heavier bullets. I do have a .50 cal. Aluminum mould by Lee among with MANY other Lee aluminum moulds, but prefer my iron Lyman moulds to those. I am sure you will be happy with Accurate Moulds aluminum blocks. Beautifully cut and finished.
