Another recent addition - Rodda 577 2 3/4. This one is a hefty 13lbs unloaded.

Beautifully restored?
NP or BP only?
Wonderful piece of kit to say the least - WOW!

Great catch & a very nice restoration. I applaud whomever did the work.
How about a picture of the barrel flats and proof marks.

IMO .577 2 3/4 is a very nice chambering. If for no other reason (as in .577 3") it will keep some less knowledgeable person from dropping a full nitro .577 3" into an old BP rifle…..

Oh WOW - those colours. Have to agree wholeheartedly with the restoration.
Quite elegant with it's very conservative engraving.

Beautiful rifle !!!!!!!!! As Paul Roberts once told me about Rodda’s guns, “I’ve never seen a bad rifle with his name on it” .
I have to agree

Thanks Mike. The restoration can be credited to the previous owner, who had the work done over a number of years. The colour case hardening was completed abroad and not here in Australia.

Here are some pics of the proof marks (albeit faint) - 577 BPE (2 3/4)

Thanks. The rifle was restored by the previous owner and is a BPE.

Nicely restored indeed.
Probably finer checkering then would have been original, but I've learnt not to be too presumptive about such things!
When I first read the weight at 13 lbs I was assuming full nitro. A couple of pounds heavier than most .577 BPE: it should be a pussycat to shoot.

Yes, it is a heavy old rifle. It was previously used in BGRC events running nitro loads with the Woodleigh 650gn BPE projectiles.
