Seeing I've been resurfacing Jim Corbett threads.

Savadeep, the poster. had this video sent to him. A truck hit and killed the black leopard overnight. Villagers found it the next morning.

Beautiful animal. Sad ending. Hopefully it is skinned. Even better taxidermied. I doubt the latter.

Would be a very nice skin to have. Black panthers are just an ordinary Leopard with the melanistic colour variation similar to that displayed by black fallow deer. You can see the leopard rosettes in the black fur. The black colouration certainly adds an evil touch to these great creatures.

Savadeep says the carcass was burned.

And also it was mentioned taxidermied has actually been banned by law in India.

Stupid wasteful laws.

Interesting conversations. Savadeep says he shot his first leopard at 13 at Naini Tal. Geoff aka Mpofu, a past member here, saw hiscfirst black panther at 14.

Black panthers, black leopards, seem more common in India than in Africa.
