I am thinking about building a rifle in 404 Dakota.
Does anyone have any experience with the cartridge?

None, other than it is supposed to be an 'improved' 404 Jeffery. I don't know what is wrong with the old one.
Why are you looking at the 404 Dakota? I ask because I have been thinking of a 375 Dakota.

Micky,
I think the .375 dakota is younger than you

i am looking for a 40 caliber to fit into a short action. I already have a 375 H&H and a 458 win. I am trying to fill in the gap in a regular length FN Mauser action.
