Simson Suhl 20-bore double rifle firing 20-gauge slug ammunition. Converted from a 16-gauge shotgun.

I've wondered if my 12-bore Simson Suhl side by side shotgun, could be converted into a double rifle?

Looks like a Nagle (Nagel?) skeleton rear sight on that DR.
Side clips and cross-bolt, interesting proposition for 12 bore Rifle.

My shotgun is a 12-bore. I'll need to take some photos.

What cartridges could a conversion double rifle be made from it?

Like the larger heavier Greener Empires, perhaps .577 LNE?

I'm after a nice .375 Flanged though, scoped. As I've mentioned before.

While the slight case colour hardened action, plain, is not too bad. The walnut stocks are plain. Possibly need restocking. Overall it would be quite a plain Jane double rifle. A sidelock like that Saraswueta would be fantastic instead.

I have quite similar Sauer & sohn 16 cal. Made in 1962. Not so nice woods thou.

every shotgun made between 1950 and 1990 in suhl will do the double rifle job. for ease of production all shotgun, combination gun, double rifle had the same kind of action build strong enough to be used for whatever was on the list.
