Boy those Swedes sure were paranoid about firearm condition!

An 1899 Oberndorf M96/38 in my gunsafe shows the first increment for bore wear on the stock-disc, when the closest examination I can make with a borescope would suggest it is still mint!

Wonder what hammer-price that marvelous set will end up fetching?

Fantastic set of gauges, especially still in such condition.

I have one of those micrometers in new condition with box, they were made by a company called Johanson and the micrometers are known as Johanson mic's.

Swedish Iron Ore is extremely good for making gauge and tool steel as its consider fully grown ore, which means it won't change after heat treatment or with time.

Matt.

Marvellous piece of kit, would be interesting to see how it was used!

Impressive set of tools. The military 6.5x55 I have, has an almost unfired bore, but the first owner who bought it full metal & unfired, "sporterized it" poorly & the stock disk is missing.
