Broken firing pin
      #387504 - 31/10/24 12:59 PM

I have an Austrian Alexander Henry with a broken firing pin, it is an external hammer action. If I disconnect the lever to block link, can the block be removed from the top of the action?
Thanks

Not seeing your particular rifle, however sometimes there is a stop screw that limits the upward travel of the BB, so that would need to be removed first. It is usually in the side of the receiver. Again not seeing exactly what you have it is hard to answer your question.

Posting pictures to this forum has always been a mystery to me. I have posted the same questions with photos to the GCCA forum.

Removed it out the bottom, not as tough as I expected. This is a small version of the Alexander Henry so a small firing pin, hope to find a smith who will make one.

Sorry didn’t see this earlier Mike. I recall there being disassembly diagrams in Winfers books. I went over to GCCA but your pics there wouldn’t open for me. (I’m a junior member there…only registered last year so that may be why). Hope to see your rifle one day

Mike,
Nice rifle. My Austrian Henry is a hemmerless with DST, originally in 5.6x52R and rebored/rerifled in 1937 to 6.5x52R.
