Exemplary Stephen Grant 20g Sidelock Over & Under
Seeking a modern, best quality, sidelock, single trigger, 20-bore, English over & under with long barrels and a long stock? Look no further.

By Westley Richards & Co.

This 1990 20-bore (No.24020) was built by some of the very best English gunmakers of their generation, when Ron Solari and Cyril Adams owned and operated Stephen Grant as a passion project and were building some of the best sporting guns of the era.

The dimensions are perfect for the modern man, with 29" barrels and 15" stock (all wood), with a close to perfect game gun weight of 6lbs 9oz.

The perfectly struck barrels are choked to Quarter (under) and Half (over), chambered for 2 3/4" (70mm) cartridges, and proofed in London at 950 BAR.

This is a true back-action sidelock, engraved by Keith Thomas with very fine, full coverage scrolls. The maker's name is gold-inlaid, within a scroll banner, on each lock. In addition, there is a large gold oval in the stock and gold inlay to the cocking indicators and the word 'SAFE' on the top strap.

All pin slots and screw heads align perfectly and show no sign of having been used.

The hold-open top-lever and trigger guard retain their original blacking and the colour case hardening on the locks, action and trigger appears to be 100% in tact.

The highly figured straight-hand stock retains its original finish, chequer panels and drop-points. Only the occasional very light marks in the wood suggest the gun has ever been handled. It is presented in its original leather case, with trade label.

This is, essentially, a new 20-bore sidelock ejector over & under in much sought-after dimensions and of the very highest London quality.

To commission this today from an English gunmaker would cost well over one hundred and sixty thousand pounds, with a delivery time of around four years.

Yet, here it is, available now, for your immediate gratification.

This Stephen Grant 20g Sidelock Over & Under is for sale at £55,000. For more information and imagery of this unique gun, click on the link below:

Very nicely done, Ron Solari is a master.
That said, the guns looks are an acquired taste.
