I picked this one up at Holt's, action marked "1898", chambered in 7x57 and the barrel has been lined. I like the looks of this one and suspect that it is an intermediate length transitional action.

Very nice classic sporter. Looks to be a great stalking rifle. Thanks for sharing.

Hi boulder,

What do you mean with "the barrel has been lined" ?

I believe the original rifling was bored out and a rifled liner turned to fit, then chambered. The rifle passed re-proof so I took a chance on it.

Hi boulder,

Do you "believe" or are sure of that? The seller told this has been made? Strange but not imposible. Anyway is a job much expensive than to copy the original barrel.

Good luck!

PH

I will not be certain until the rifle gets in my hands. Right now I have only the description from the Auction company.
