New (to me) Drilling on the way
      #38467 - 30/09/05 08:12 AM

Just purchased a Heym 33 drilling in 20ga and 270 via the internet...always risky, but the seller has 1700+ positive feedbacks and no neutral or negatives...

I'll probably have it scoped. Who out West does this, besides LeBaas? I don't use him anymore.

Has anyone here had experience with the Heym DRs or drillings? This gun is a mid-1960s gun, complete with the white line spacers and polished blue . Both are going to be changed... I don't know why all the production gunmakers of that era had to make their arms look like 1957 Plymouths...fins, chrome, white sidewalls, and all...

For adding scope mounts, I'd go with JJ at Champlin Arm in OK. He does very nice work.

Neat gun, BTW.

You are going to keep the skip line checkering though, right?

I hope you keep us in the loop on who you pick and how do they do.

The skip line checkering will go after the hunting season...if I can wait that long to get rid of it.

I jumped on this gun because they work, don't give problems...aaaaannnnndddd...it is in 20 gauge. The facelift comes later.
