Bugger!
The 410/45 's not available.
Will have to read up on our Firearms act. If Adapters in our state are registerable, to make one would be considered a criminal offence if found!
Doesn't mean I don't want one.....or 2

I've got some shotshells in 9mm (CCI #12 shot) and 357mag (CCI #9 shot) but I haven't tried them yet.

I have tried Winchester 22LR ratshot (#12 shot) on close-up targets (maybe 6ft away) and the spread was quite large, as expected from a rifled barrel. The target was a ply backing board and a few pellets actually bounced off and hit me in the ankle - ouch, but no penetration luckily.

I've got a couple of 12guage adapters - one in 22LR and one in 357mag. It'll be interesting to try the shotshells in them but I'll need to buy a shotgun first.

M&9
had similar experience with ratshot myself when the father in law got rid of a slithery pest in his old shed - yes they bounce back everywhere!
As to your adapters where did you get those from?
Interesting concepts using those.

I got mine from Oz Gun Mart a while ago - looks like they have a variety in stock again:

I also bought a 30/06 chamber adapter in 32 S&W Long from them but I haven't seen them in stock for a while. It shoots great at 50 yards:

The patched holes were S&B 100gn RN and unpatched S&B 100gn WC. The rifle was a Columbian Mauser carbine with the handguard removed so a red dot could be fitted on a scout scope mount for testing purposes

That's what I would be getting!
That makes the 12guage a bit more versatile, especially finishing off game, rather than shredding it!
A 410/22LR would be good too!

Some of the guys around here, had .32 S&W inserts for their .30/06's and .300 Magnums, back in the 70's and 80's.
I've never considered an insert for a shotgun.
I do have a LONG .22 Hornet insert for a 16 bore sitting on the rack. Don't even remember where I got that from. I don't have a 16 bore now, maybe I should get one so I can use up all this .22 Hornet ammo I have? It might not be safe shooting it in an insert, as the ammo was for a CZ or modern .22 Hornet only.

Interesting, now I need a 16 bore - or - another CZ, Ruger, Anschutz or Thompson Centre Hornet.

Trouble is, there is no more room in the gun room.
Maybe I need a larger lockable room?
