Big Moose in the Yukon
      #380363 - 26/10/23 05:10 PM

Short clip I came across today. Moose run quite large there.
For some people, moose is where IT'S at.

Daryl,

Thanks for posting. Interesting video.

That will be a very large amount of meat to pack out!

Now, the real work starts. That sort of thing is beyond me now.
I'm going grouse and bunny hunting with a friend this afternoon. That, I can handle.

The description states its in Alaska, which makes sense given that one of the shooters has a suppressor attached to his rifle. ( Not sure if Canada allows suppressors for general hunting. Perhaps some of our Canadian friends can confirm)

Either way a great moose. I understand the saying "nothing spoils a good moose hunt like actually getting one".

Oh - thought they or someone said Yukon.
No silencers or suppressors allowed in Canada.
Thought I saw something like that on the rifle and thought "ODD", but then discounted it.

Monster compared to Scandinavian moose.

I think a moose hunt would've very expensive for me. I'd need a bigger house.

Carrying that out might kill me if it's far from a vehicle.

Talking about the work after the shot reminds me of what NE's member Orion said about his moose hunt with Indians on their land. He shot two moose and both in the river, in the water. The Indians were angry about having to deal with two moose in the freezing water. So he said he'd do it all himself. The fastest butcher jobs he said he ever done.
