I have one!! Good rifles, if a bit on the heavy side.

Appears to be a nicely done sporterization of a military rifle, is it?

My thoughts too, vertically, through the action. Nice otherwise. could be the wood is too high on the sides at the action.

tradeexcanada has a whack of them, some sporters, others mil-spec. Sorry, no "foreign" buyers.

DoubleD, I think it is.

I also spoke out of school. Mine is from the mid-60's and on Husqvqrna's '98 action. It's still a good rifle and it too is a bit on the heavy side. My 9.3 is from between the wars.

Is it a M96 action?

yes it is a 96 or 94 - there were 96 or 94 sporters by Husqvarna as well - very similar different bolts.
The 94 action is identical, except for the bolt handle, I think. Some from that part of the world were saying all the 9.3x57's were 94's along with the others. Seems the 94 was the Sporter version of the 96? This could be true - I do not know.

Chamberings in sporters were 6.5x55, 8x57, 9.3x57 and 9.3x62 - some also say .30/06 as there are some found.
The 6.5x55 has a maximum working pressure of 55,000psi Pezio.
The others in 57mm and the 9.3x62 have working pressures of 57,000psi and the '06 is 60,000psi.
