Indeed - very nice.
I do like the stock design although the cheek piece probably isn't necessary.

For a normal hunting rifle a cheek piece is never necessary. It is nothing but a hindrance to good and fast shooting.

Nice thing!

Detail of the pistol-grip, wrist and nose of the comb are to my eye quintessential Westley Richards. Love it!

Personally I like shadow-line pancake cheek-pieces, but I would have deduced from my own experience admiring Brit bolt-rifles that Westley Richards made a lot less with than without.

...and I'm glad it doesn't have side-panels, not to my personal taste.

Aren't we lucky that sportsmen of the "golden age" had varied taste in firearm design, so that we can enjoy a wide variety of vintage firearms today!

Having "new" rifles made to popular vintage designs is simply a testament to the rarity and monetary value of surviving examples in VGC condition.
Aren't we lucky that we can do this too!

Lovely work, beautiful timber & a great cartridge.
Shame it never had the pop-up peep sight - a must have on a ZKK!

If Westley Richards had been shown the patent for a pop-up peep sight a century ago, there is no doubt he would have added such a gadget to the vast array of sights employed on WR bolt-guns ever since!

Tell me. The factory ZKK actions look chunky and blocky to me. This example does not. Has it been restylised?

Looks normal to me, for a 600 or 601. Seems to me, the 601 was the short one for .308 length ctgs.
I might have the 600 and 601 reversed.
The 602 was the large one, for .358 Norma Mag., .375H&H and .458 Win. Mag.

G'Day Fella's,

No DarylS, you are correct, with your Brno ZKK-600 series, of centrfire rifle actions.

Luckily, I now have one Brno ZKK-601, two 600's, a 602, and also, a ZG-47 (that was made the same year as me).
One of the 1970 made 600's, is presently chambered in .338-06.
I want to have it rebarreled to 9.3x62, but with an octagonal barrel, with an integral, full length rib.
I have discussed this particular barrel with Grant, at Allan Swan Gunsmithing (ASG), and he is interested in doing this, just to learn How To do this. This is great news but ASG are a very busy bunch, of good people, so I will just have to wait in line, until Grant has got this worked out in his head.
By the way, I want this same 9.3x62, to be a Full-Wood rifle, with a 21" long barrel.

That'll be nice, homer. My Oberndorf was at some time, shortened to 22" and is a very nice handling 9.3x62. When testing loads, I was using BLC2 and obtained over 2,600fps with 270gr. Speer bullets. Rather impressive.
Of course, the .338/06 and .338/06IMP are great rounds too.
The IMP version has just about the same case capacity as the 9.3x62, however the 9.3 is just slightly bigger.

By that time that action looks "smoothed" off. Very nice. Not what I expect from a ZKK action. I'll have to look for some images of ZKKs and see if I am right or wrong?

Feel free to join in and post suitable examples.

One of the best features of the ZKK action is those examples having a pop up peep sight.
