What is the biggest or largest bore chambering, custom or factory for the Tikka / Valmet 412 / 512 U/O double rifle that you know of?
Only interested in 'safe' chamberings.
Also how was it done - rechambering an existing barrel set, reboring, etc ?
Thanks.

I knew of one rechambered from 375 Win to 375 H&H FM. The extractor had a thin ring added to correct for rim thickness. I was never able to get any follow up info as to safety, performance, etc.

This one is for sale at double gun headquarters: It's chambered for a 375/444. There are a few articles on the net by Chuck Hawks about it.

I can't understand why anyone would rechamber a 375 Win to this "cat", when a 9,3X74R will do everything...better, IMHO.
And...there is always factory ammo for a 9,3. Any rechambering would need to exceed 9,3X74R specs to interest me.
