No idea why it has to be "understated". It is how a paying satisfied customer wanted it.

Vulgar is all these modern plastic rifles often ugly in the extreme, not this working art.

The metal work, stock shape, are all top notch. However, I don't like the timer in the stock, this is just me, the more figure the less I like it. Plain simple straight lined are what I like. Be a boring place if we all liked the same thing. Even so it could find a place in my safe if I could afford it.

The other thing I would do is have the bolt handle dog leg- yeah, I know I am nuts , so the bolt knob is just above the trigger like the P14/M17/ Rem Mohawk do.
