It is a Brno ZKK-602. I don't have pictures on a host so I cannot post any. I have shot a bunch of Barnes and Speer 200gr. bullets. They seem to go where they're pointed!

I've listed that bullet in my 8 mm bullet list possible archive. My bullet lists.

A 160 gr Barnes solid X would make a possible super velocity 8x68S choice for many feet species, ferals, alpine species. Or a 180 gr.

I've never used the Barnes solid style bullets before. Except on targets. In that rifle they didn't prove accurate.

I'll probably give the 160 gr TTSX a try. 220gr Adequate. A 250 gr RNSP if a good one can be sourced.

So the .375 Ruger case is based on the 8x68S brass?

I've thought a 9.5x68 would be cool. I couldn't own a .375 Ruger though. I could a 9.5x68 though.

Hopefully one-day I will find a custom barrel maker to make M03 barrels. Don't need one with the .404 of course. Perhaps a .375/404!

I made up a 9.5x68 many years ago and wrote it up here, I am sure. That was back in the free photobucket days.
I had some 8x68S brass, but mostly used .375H&H brass. I would turn the belts down to .522", then trim to length and fireform.
Instant good brass. They had a couple gr. more or less capacity than RWS 8x68 brass. IIRC, they held more powder.
The case body formed out to fill the chamber.
My best friend Keith's brother ended up with it, then had it re-barreled (Keith and I wore out the bore) and re-chambered to the same ctg.
I was shooting a lot of trimmed down .223 brass made into bullets without annealing them. That might have been the reason for the wear.
I don't think we put more than about 3,000 rounds through it.
Seems to me I used a .300 Win Mag die I bored the neck out with a carbide drill for a sizer. I made a seating die like the current Hornady seating dies with a sliding collar and fixed seating post.

edited - belts turned down from .532" to .522".

They are very close. The Ruger is a skosh bigger (0.2mm) at the rim and base and the shoulder is 'longer' by a couple millimeters.

I don't honestly know where Ruger got their inspiration but maybe?
