Many customs to this day in America are clones of this inherently accurate action design..still being used to this day..

Not a big fancy frills rifle..but man I have had many that would shoot as well as any custom I have ever owned ..

BTW..this article is 10 years old..

Good article I feel. Not going out there to sell and distort things. It is a dammed good action. All mine bar one have had good to excellent accuracy. Never had one let me down in the field.

My thoughts are, if it wasn't such a good action and didn't work so well there wouldn't be every gun smith and his brother makes clones of it..

As to reliability..have never had an issue as well.. have carried a custom shop Remington in 416 on 5 African hunts...hunted all the dangerous game with one.. Only 1 hunt I carried a diff. rifle and that was a Sako in .375H&H.. in Cameroon hunting Lord Derby..

I do have 2 others 416's..one custom on a Mauser action another on a Winchester controlled round feed.. Plan to take the latter when I head back on day..
