As close to a perfect working rifle as I have seen for a while from Westley Richards. At least in my opinion.

I need to copy the photos over.
I really like the Gun Case and it's canvas cover and the sling. The green/sage and brown tan leather is my favourite.
Quote:
In this case, the wording includes '5 Cartridges' engraved on the floor plate and on the internal plate of the magazine, specifying carrying capacity. Along the side of the ramp foresights, the words ' FOR 300 GRAIN BULLET' are engraved. Gold-inlaid on the bridge are the words .375 H&H MAGNUM' and on the opposite side 'WESTLEY RICHARDS No.43700'.
I think the 5 cartridges on the magazine floorplate is redundant. Perhaps on the inside for those ignorant of the obvious. The 300 gr might have some relevance. If the loading is equivalent to the load used for the open sights.
Extremely nice.

I love a, working rifle far more then a beautiful but overly decorative display piece. Quality built to be used is the best sort of gun, that definitely meets that standard. I also love the Mauser offerings these days, less show but high quality built to be used. Some get over technical but that old world built to last functionality is definitely where I'd rather spend my money then some custom action ultra lightweight barrel burner.

At long last a correctly built rifle. I am totally besotted by this perfect rifle. And for all those cack shooters out there, pick up a rifle that has the bolt on its correct side and you will soon wonder at the skill and dexterity of a left handed shot who masters the use of a right handed rifle.

Superb rifle, as usual with Westley Richards; maybe a little too much of decoration for my own taste. Louis

Each to their own, the customer pays the price for the workmanship & be able to say that's my rifle. You just have to admire the workmanship & the timber used - magnificent!
