Does anyone know where you can get a carrier similar to the one MS uses?

It's open at the top and bottom and goes on a belt. I haven't seen one like this for sale anywhere.

Perhaps there would be some advantage to being able to push each round up from below, otherwise I expect Ratel's offering would do the trick, while completely protecting the soft-points at the same time.

My dad likes the look of this type of holder (MS). Looks like the Africase guys may do something special for me when I get some dummy rounds for the .577 made.

the hoyt cartridge holders for .470 work perfectly for the .500. All you need to do is wet the leather and then put some .500 shells in the holder and that will stretch enough. I got mine from cabelas.

500 grains, The cartridge holder that I was talking about is in fact the boyt holder that you can get from cabelas as the other poster stated earlier. You can get them for the .470 N.E and I bought a ten round holder that I stretched out for my .500 by wetting the holder and then placing the shells in the holder. Unfortunately, I have left my holder back in Tanzania so I won't be able to post a picture. I will try to remember to bring it back at the end of October and if you still need a picture, I will attempt to post one then. All I can say is that they are relatively cheap and it works very well for me.

The price on the Mark Sullivan carriers is WAY over the top IMO. I'm sure you could get Heritage Arms to make you the same thing (with quality at least as good if not better) for far less.

Marrakai,
I bought a 6 round holder and a 12 round holder as in your
pic.Being new they were impossible to use because they were too tight.
I have squeezed empty cases into them and cut the noses off the blind end and now they are great.
Lesson-give all your gear a thorough work out before the elephant charge
