Old remington 10gauge SxS

Is an old remington 1880something model 10gauge SxS worth much and also would it be any good to hunt with or would it just be a wallhanger??

I haven't seen it in person so I don't know if it has damascus barrels or not.

if the barrels are sound and the action tight(should be checked over) then loading some careful black powder cartridges for it should be safe and fun. It would definately have some collectible value.

The Rems were very good guns. Barrels are important. Anything else is fasirly easy to fix. If loose, it costs about $200 to fix it. There are powders like PB and 7425 that are even lower pressure than black powder. Check out imrpowder.com

Actually no, it is not worth anything at all and is a hazard to have around. Your best course of action is to box it up and ship it to me immediately for proper disposal.
