If it were mine I would have chosen 300 H&H and 375 H&H

Matt.

Agreed, much better choice.

Me too.

When I bought my Whitworth .375, it was supposed to get "cut" intio a takedown, and a .300 H&H Mag barrel and forend made for it.

Discussed this with "Honest John" and he thought perfectly possible .... when I got in touch with them later, "No, not a good idea. The thread will wear too much!!"

The real reason of course being the existing barrel thread was on an angle and the stock made for the angle! Quite noticeable when one looks for it. I had mounts custom made to compensate, so a scope could be used.

Maybe oneday ... get a new stock, and another forend, two new barrels and try again!

The Westley Richards look like fine rifles. As usual for the featured rifles, overly decorated for my tastes.

Back again to the chambering choices, it is the orderer's choice and decision. And no doubt a better chance to find .300 Win Mag ammo than Buckley's Chance of finding .300 H&H Mag ammo anywhere. especially in Africa.

The problem with these takedowns, is one will always have the wrong barrel on it, at the time needed! A reason my "takedown" Mauser M03 has two stocks, two actions, and multiple bolts, bolt heads, scopes and mounts. ie two whole rifles and four barrels.

A great benefit of a takedown is the small case only needed for it.
