Nice rifle, but this is surprising. With the bolt thrust from the larger case I wouldn't think that it was something that they would put in a 98 action. I read an article recently in a publication from SA where one of the other WSM cartridges sheared the bolt lugs on a 98.

What a waste of an exquisite rifle. A standard M98 for a short cartridge? If you absolutely need a .277 caliber for a young child or your wife at least consider the .270 Weatherby or better yet the classic .270 Win with Superformance ammo, 140gr@3090fps.Owner should consider a matching one in .233WSSM.
