It looks like they used square thread profile.
I'd like to see the latch mechanism in the forend and the joint plates.

Beautiful rifle.

Tinker, it will be either an ACME or a Trapezoidal thread. Never a square thread. For a square thread it must have side clearance and therefore it would have end float.
